Peter Gartmann and Sabina Roth have created black-and-white and monochromatic art paintings of trees, frail and fragile –
they appear like delicate, spatial objects, spherical tree creatures –
full of lightness and complexity.
The trees become an abstraction, archaic and sacral –
symbolic of the conscious and subconscious, of the visible and invisible.
The tree represents the connection between heaven and earth –
as a symbol of the universe, as a connecting element in the cosmos.
The tree shining through, brought to life by the light –
in constant change and transformation, arising in a new image –
tree of life – a great mystery, full of miracles and secrets.
The tree images are the result of Peter Gartmann`s and Sabina Roth`s long-standing visual exploration of the subject of trees and woods – based on individual image series around the nature of trees.

Das Licht der Bäume
Peter Gartmann und Sabina Roth haben schwarz-weisse und monochrome Baumbilder geschaffen, zerbrechlich und fragil –
sie wirken wie filigrane, räumliche Objekte, sphärische Baumwesen –
voller Leichtigkeit und Vielschichtigkeit.
Die Bäume werden zur Abstraktion, archaisch und sakral –
symbolisch für das Bewusste und Unbewusste, für das Sichtbare und Unsichtbare.
Der Baum steht für die Verbindung von Himmel und Erde –
als Symbol des Universums, als verbindendes Element im Kosmos.
Der durchscheinende Baum, durch das Licht zum Leben erweckt –
in fortlaufender Veränderung und Verwandlung, aufgehend in einem neuen Bild –
Baum des Lebens – ein grosses Mysterium, voller Wunder und Geheimnisse.
Die Baumbilder sind das Ergebnis der langjährigen, visuellen Auseinandersetzung von Peter Gartmann und Sabina Roth mit dem Thema Baum und Wald – ausgehend von individuellen Bildserien rund um das Wesen der Bäume.
